* STUDENT COUNCIL EVENT – You are invited to come out to our Student Council sponsored event this Friday, February 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  “Will You Be My Valentine?” is the  theme and we will have Maui Waui smoothies, a basketball tournament, DJ Pilch, a Valentine's card-making station, Gnomeo and Juliet movie/popcorn and plenty of junk food! Admission is $3.  Bring a non-perishable food item for $1 off the admission. For more information, please contact Mrs. Nickel.

*DOODLE  4 GOOGLE CONTEST – Ira Jones students are welcome to create a ‘doodle’ for the Doodle 4 Google contest.  The artistic ‘Doodles’ center on the theme, "If I could travel in time, I’d visit…" and are due to the school by March 14th.  Our school can submit an unlimited number of entries.  Parents and legal guardians can also register their students directly and submit doodles to Google.  Please keep in mind, however, that the contest allows only one entry per student.  Contest details, consent forms, and templates are available in the Media Center and also are available to download online at Doodle 4 Google, http://www.google.com/doodle4google/info.html

*SCHOOL STORE - The school store will be open on Thursdays from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.  The School Store is located outside of the cafeteria across from the nurse’s office.  Right now, we have plenty of volunteers, but if anyone else is interested in helping, please contact Kelly at airkell@hotmail.com

*Virtual Backpack - District 202 shares community information with our families through the "District 202 Virtual Backpack." The Virtual Backpack in an online material distribution system that helps us save money and "go green." New community fliers and informational materials are posted every week. Check out the Virtual Backpack on the front page of the district web site and our school web site.
